I’m Anna Zakaras, a communications and marketing specialist with more than 15 years experience across media, sport, property, lifestyle and culture - creating campaigns that connect brands with audiences authentically and with impact.
I'm a proud Southern Highlands local and AZPR is borne from my ambition to shine a light on this region and its diverse offering, talented people and unique brands, and beyond.
Combining strategy with storytelling has always been central to my work, ensuring campaigns feel both commercially impactful and culturally relevant. My strengths are my innate understanding to identify the interesting and the unique and turn that into a compelling narrative for a wider audience; my ability to leverage my extensive and trusted network of media and industry contacts to bring that narrative to life; and my drive to deliver highly professional and effective work.
Prior to launching AZPR, my career highlights include managing publicity for The Australian’s Hedley Thomas and his internationally acclaimed podcasts, including The Teacher’s Pet; strategising launch campaigns for the Supercoach app working with top tier talent like the late Shane Warne; and I also managed delicious. magazine’s celebrated ‘Delicious 100’ campaign, collaborating with leading chefs, growers, restaurateurs and bar owners to showcase the evolving world of food, wine and dining.
My career has also taken me to London, as marketing manager for a leading property recruitment firm with responsibility for commercial strategy, campaign delivery and building talent profile.
Back home and horses have always been an integral part of my life and career - as a communications manager for the Australian Turf Club; marketing officer for Aushorse; and dedicated owner of Bounce, my beautiful grey warmblood.
My aim is to shine a light on the rich offering of the Southern Highlands region and beyond, by working with authentic and diverse connections in my latest chapter at AZPR.
